Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: There will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in Delvin on Monday from 10am-2pm, and 6pm-10pm. In Killulagh on Wednesday from 5.30pm-8.30pm.

Baptism Preparation Course: A course for parents with children for Baptism will be held in the Parochial House on Tuesday 9th February at 8.00pm.

Needs of the Diocese: Thanks to everyone who contributed to the collection last weekend. Amount collected was €1,265.Next collection will be taken up next weekend. The Bishop has asked for a contribution from each Parish to meet the cost of services provided by the Diocese. These include Marriage preparation and support for the teaching of Religion in Schools, as well as a contribution to the National Bishop’s Conference. The amount to be collected by this Parish is €5,400.

St. Michael’s Parish. Castlepollard: The Annual Church Unity Ceremony involving the Catholic and Church of Ireland Parishes will take place at St. Michael’s Church, Castlepollard on Sun 24th Jan at 5pm.All are Welcome.

Christian Unity Week: Begins this week from 18th to the 25th January is a week of prayer for Christian Unity. We are conscious of the many divisions among followers of Christ. It is the will of Christ that they may be one. During that week we join Christians all over the world in praying that the divisions may be healed and unity restored.

Earthquake in Haiti: Following the earthquake in Haiti people may wish to make a donation to help the people who have suffered so much. Donation boxes will be placed in the Churches this weekend to help the relief effort. All donations will be forwarded directly to Haiti through the Diocese. Donations for Haiti may also be made to Trocaire, Maynooth. Co. Kildare. Tel. 1850 408 408.

Marriage Encounter Weekend: Give your husband or wife a special Valentine gift of a weekend away with a difference (12-14 Feb ). Set Dancing Classes: Due to weather conditions Set Dancing Classes at St. Loman’s G. A. A. Hall, Mullingar will re-commence on Monday 18th January, weather permitting.

Delvin Historical Society: A Lecture by Ruth Illingworth “The First World War and the effects on the Local Communities” will be held in Carmel Gaffney’s on Thursday 28th January at 8.30pm. Adm €3. All are Welcome.

Athboy Community School: Open Day on Sun 24th Jan. 1-2pm on Kells Rd. 1-3pm on Kildalkey Rd campus. Information Sessions for Pupils and Parents at 3pm. Poster on Notice Board with more information.
