Meath Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Holy Land: Led by Bishop Michael Smith from Mon 15th –Wed 24th October, 2012.

50th International Eucharistic Congress: The 50th International Eucharistic Congress is not envisaged as a weeklong event but as a spiritual journey of preparation. To help pilgrims along the way, the IEC2012 have mapped the journey in 4 stages and developed a pastoral preparation for the Congress, providing resources to help reflection on the Congress theme—“The Eucharistic Communion with Christ and with One Another”. Check out the pastoral resources that are available on Congress website. Why not get together with a group of people and walk that journey using these resources? www.iec2012.ie /pastoral

Maryvale Course: A Course in Ministry and Evangelisation is being offered by Maryvale Institute (Birmingham) during the coming year. It is a one year course which begins in March and ends in December, 2012. It is a distance learning course i.e. students study at home, following a Course book provided by Maryvale. A Study Day will be held in Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath on Sat March 10th to introduce students to the Course. Further information from 044-9664127/044-9664016/087-2626738. Latest date for registration is March 2nd .

Delvin Parish Pilgrimage to Rome & Assisi: Led by Fr. Seamus Heaney PP Oct 15th -19th , 2012. Fare €995. Information and booking with Alice Reilly at 087-4147871.

Confirmation Retreats: A Retreat will be held in St. Patrick’s Hall for 5th Class pupils on Wed next 8th Feb and for 6th Class pupils on Thurs 9th . Pupils should be dropped off at the Hall at 9.30am and collected at 3pm.

Parents Meetings: Meetings for parents of Confirmation pupils (5th -6th class ) will be held as follows: For parents of St. Tola’s pupils in St. Tola’s School on Wed 8th at 8pm. For parents of St. Ernan’s and Crowenstown pupils in St. Ernan’s School on Wed 15th at 8pm.

Guest Speaker: Colette Furlong will speak at Masses in the parish next weekend about the Eucharistic Congress next June.

Delvin Adult Ed. Group: Meet every Tuesday from 10.30am-12.30pm. Tue 7th Citizens Information Morning.

Delvin Handball Club: Registration night on Mon 6th Feb for Handball & Racquet Ball from 7 to 9pm in Meeting Room.

Delvin Hospice Homecare: Table Quiz will take place in Dolores Gaffney’s on Fri 10th Feb starting at 9pm sharp.

Delvin Friendship Club: A. G. M. will take place in the Hall on Monday 13th February at 8.30pm.Any Member who intends going on our Week Away in April and has not given their name please do so with a deposit by March 3rd .

St.Mary’s Graveyard: Volunteers are needed to clean up Graveyard at the Old Church. Anyone willing to spare a few hours are asked to contact Mike Kenny at 0871465545, or Eamonn Clancy at 044-9664658.

Needs of the Diocese: The second  collection will be taken up after Communion at Masses this Sunday 22nd January. The Bishop has asked for a contribution from each parish to meet the cost of services provided by the Diocese. These include Marriage preparation and support for the teaching of Religion in Schools, as well as a contribution to the National Bishop’s Conference. The amount to be collected by this Parish is €5,400.Thanks for collection last weekend.

Christian Unity Week: From 18th to 25th January is a week of Prayer for Christian Unity. A Prayer Service for Christian Unity will be held in Castlepollard Church on Sunday at 5pm. Also, as part of the week of Prayer for Christian Unity a Prayer Service will be held in Athboy Community School on Mon Jan 23rd at 8pm. All are welcome to both services.
